A Sent A History

When I was around the age of three years old my parents and my family decided to go swimming and to spend a day at a water park. I don’t remember at all how I got there or when I entered the water park, I don’t remember the swimsuit, the smell of the water or the sun beating down on me. Its not even like a blur its more of just a few pictures in my head. What is the only thing that I remembered clearly is the smell of a big, round, rainbow lolly pop. I remembered the sweet smell wrapped in a clear, plastic wrapper with a sticker of Mickey mouse in the front.
Years passed by and when I would see a rainbow lolly pop like the one I remembered in the water park I would smell it to see if it was the same scent as the one on I had at the water park. To my disappointment it wasn’t. Until one day I was at the store and I saw a lolly pop I knew that it probably wasn’t the same but I decided to give it a try. TO my surprise it was exactly like one I had when I was three years old. Just the scent made me remember a little bit more, like my family who was there and that it was really how that day. I do believe that scent is a very powerful tool that we have for us to remember places, things or people.
